Monumental shapes in snow

Four teachers from Stangnes upper secondary school visited Bardufoss upper secondary school to learn how to sculpture in snow and ice. The course lasted for three days and included learing the use of different shaping tools, how to make a snow mould, how to work with different snowqualities and how to find and use ice from a lake.

When we arrived each teacher got a cube of snow the size 120cm by 240cm. We started making sketches on paper, and then we transferred the drawings onto the threedimentional shapes.
